RAMRUDRA HIGH SCHOOL, is a benevolent institution, established in 1947 by two best friends Ramrudra Prasad Sinha, the first DM of Manbhum district(Purulia , Dhanbad , Bokaro combined) of independent India and great educationist Manbodh Mahtha, a resident of Kolbendi village of Chas.Once they met after long time and DM Ramrudra Sinha got to know that children of this area are not getting education so Manbodh Babu is teaching them. DM sinha saw a godown built for soldiers in World War II at a distance and offered him to open a school in it. The journey of Ramrudra High School started from this godown, which is today the pride of entire Bokaro district and spread across 12.85 acres of land providing quality education to thousands of children of this area. Ramrudra High School stands on the foundation of eternal friendship between Manbum's DM Ramrudra Sinha and Kolbendi Resident Manbodh Mahtha as Manbodh babu named the school Ramrudra High school to express his gratitude towards his best friend, he said that the country will get true freedom only when people are educated. There can be no greater man than the one who laid the foundation of education in this field.
Ramrudra High School was given temporary establishment permission in 01.01.1948 and permanent establishment permission in 01.01.1951. First Headmaster of this school was Manbodh Mahtha from 01.01.1948 to 04.07.1980. Manbodh Babu is still revered in Chas- Chandankiyari block for awakening the light of education and discipline. School is managed by the Department of Education. It is located in Urban area in CHAS block of BOKARO district of Jharkhand. The school consists of Grades from 9 to 12. Its broad aim is the all round development of the society at large.In particular, it seeks to promote the spread of education, natural regeneration and moral uplift of the young generation.
